Packers’ Jordan Love Opens Up on Micah Parsons & Injury Recovery
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has revealed that he attempted to recruit Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons to Green Bay. Speaking on Up and Adams on FanDuel TV, Love shared that he and Parsons connected during an offseason appearance on Parsons’ podcast, The Edge.
“I talked to Micah this offseason. We did a podcast together,” Love said. “I recruited him a little bit.”
Parsons, currently in a contract dispute with the Cowboys and seeking a trade, is one of the league’s premier defensive players. A two-time All-Pro, three-time Pro Bowler, and two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist, Parsons would immediately bolster Green Bay’s pass rush. The Packers, with around $30 million in cap space, are considered among the top potential landing spots if Dallas decides to move him.
“It might not [happen],” Love admitted. “We’ll see.”
Love also discussed his recovery from recent thumb surgery on his non-throwing hand, which sidelined him briefly during training camp.
“I think the hand it’s on, my left hand, is the reason I’m able to get back,” Love explained. “If it was my right hand, it’d be a totally different story.”
Despite wearing a protective brace, Love has been able to participate in 7-on-7 drills and individual receiver work as he prepares for the Packers’ Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
“It’s one of those things that we’re trying to avoid any contact to [the thumb] now,” he said. “I’ll be good for Week 1.”
Love also praised rookie wideout Matthew Golden, noting his work ethic and potential impact:
“Every day he comes to work with the right mindset,” Love said. “I’m very excited to see him on the field and see everything come to life.”
