Corey Seager Sends Heartfelt Message to Former Manager Bruce Bochy: “This Love Won’t Fail”
ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager has shared an emotional message dedicated to his former manager Bruce Bochy, following the veteran skipper’s departure from the team last week.
Bochy, who led the Rangers to their first World Series championship in 2023, officially stepped down after three seasons, marking the end of an era in Arlington. His exit drew reactions from across the baseball world, but none more heartfelt than from Seager — one of the cornerstones of the Rangers’ title run.
Taking to social media on Friday, Seager posted a photo of himself and Bochy embracing on the field after the 2023 championship win, with the caption:
“This love won’t fail. You believed in me when I needed it most. Thank you, Boch, for everything — the talks, the trust, and the fight. You changed this clubhouse forever.”
The message quickly went viral among Rangers fans, many of whom credit Bochy for reviving a franchise that had long fallen short of postseason glory. Under his leadership, the Rangers developed a championship culture built on accountability, chemistry, and belief — traits Seager said will continue to define the team.
“What he built here doesn’t end because he’s gone,” Seager later told reporters. “He taught us how to win and how to care about each other. That kind of leadership doesn’t fade.”
Bochy, 70, guided Texas to a 249–237 record over three seasons and cemented his place in Rangers history with the 2023 title — his fourth World Series championship as a manager. His departure, announced on September 30, 2025, paved the way for Skip Schumaker’s hiring as the new manager just days later.
Seager’s tribute highlights the deep respect between the two baseball minds. The shortstop often credited Bochy for helping him rediscover confidence and rhythm after injuries and early-season struggles during the championship run.
“He never stopped believing,” Seager said during the 2023 postseason. “He’s one of the best leaders I’ve ever been around.”
Fans flooded Seager’s post with messages of appreciation for both the player and his former manager, calling their bond “the heart of the 2023 Rangers.”
Though Bochy may no longer be in the dugout, Seager’s words made it clear that his influence remains deeply rooted within the team.
“This love won’t fail,” Seager wrote. “What we built — that’s forever.”
