  • **A Farewell Message from Arch Manning to the Texas Longhorns**

Dear Longhorn Nation,

It is with a heavy heart and a lot of reflection that I write this letter. After much thought and consideration, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from my journey at the University of Texas. This wasn’t an easy decision by any means, and it comes with an immense sense of gratitude, respect, and admiration for the coaches, players, and fans that made my time in Austin so unforgettable.

From the moment I set foot on the Forty Acres, I was welcomed into a family that lives and breathes Texas football. The history, the pride, and the culture here are unlike anywhere else, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have experienced it all firsthand. The bond I’ve developed with my teammates, coaches, and the entire Texas community will forever be something I cherish. This decision was not made lightly, and I want to take this opportunity to explain why I have chosen to take this step and what it means for me going forward.

**A Journey of Growth**

My journey at Texas has been filled with lessons, challenges, and incredible moments. I came to Texas with one goal in mind: to help bring championships back to the Longhorns. Football, for me, has always been about competition, camaraderie, and striving for greatness. I have poured my heart and soul into this program, and in return, I’ve received so much more than I could have ever expected.

I’ve had the privilege to work under Coach Sarkisian, who has been an incredible mentor, both on and off the field. He pushed me to be a better player, a better leader, and a better person. The coaching staff here at Texas is second to none, and I’ve learned so much about the game of football that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Coach Sark, Coach Flood, and every other member of the staff have played a huge role in my development. I’m forever grateful for their guidance and unwavering support.

The work ethic that is instilled in every player here is something that will stay with me forever. The way we push each other every day, not just in practice but in the weight room, in film sessions, and in our daily lives – it has shaped who I am as a person and as a player. I’ve never been surrounded by a more dedicated group of athletes, and I have deep respect for each and every one of my teammates. Whether we were celebrating a big win or learning from a tough loss, the support and bond we shared made all the difference.

The fans of Texas football are unlike any other. The passion, the loyalty, and the love for this program is unmatched. You all have been there for us, cheering us on through every victory and supporting us in every defeat. Your energy is contagious, and your dedication is something I will always hold dear. Playing in front of you at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium is something I will never forget. The Longhorns are a part of who I am, and no matter where I go, I will always carry the pride of being a part of this family.

**Why I’m Leaving**

This decision to leave was not made because of any shortcomings or frustrations with the program. Quite the opposite, in fact. The coaching staff, the players, and the entire Texas football family have been incredible. But after many discussions with my family and reflecting on my future, I feel that it’s time for me to take the next step in my journey.

Football has always been my dream, and I’ve always believed in the power of chasing that dream with passion and purpose. However, as I’ve grown, I’ve come to realize that sometimes the best way to pursue your dreams is by making difficult choices. For me, this means stepping away from Texas, despite how difficult it is, and finding the next path that will allow me to continue growing, learning, and eventually achieving my goals in football.

This is a personal decision, one that I’m making for the sake of my future development, both as a player and as a person. I want to make it clear that this decision is in no way a reflection of the incredible experience I’ve had at Texas. Rather, it’s a reflection of my desire to continue evolving and finding new opportunities that align with my aspirations.

**My Gratitude to Texas**

I can’t express enough how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to play for Texas. The Longhorns will always be a part of me. From the friendships I’ve made to the lessons I’ve learned, my time here has shaped who I am today. I will forever carry the Texas values with me, and I’ll always root for the Longhorns, no matter where I end up.

To my teammates: I want to thank each and every one of you for being part of this journey. You guys are family, and I’ll never forget the battles we’ve fought together. The locker room moments, the film room sessions, and the victories and defeats we shared will forever be etched in my heart. I hope you all continue to work hard and achieve everything you’ve set out to accomplish. I believe in all of you, and I know you’ll make the Longhorns proud.

To Coach Sark and the rest of the coaching staff: Thank you for believing in me and for giving me the opportunity to be part of this incredible program. Your mentorship has been invaluable, and I will carry the lessons you’ve taught me for the rest of my career. I am better for having worked with each of you.

To the fans: Thank you for your unwavering support. Your passion and energy are what make Texas football so special. You’ve been there through thick and thin, and I’ve never felt more welcomed than I have as part of the Longhorn family. I will always be proud to have played for Texas, and I’ll never forget the incredible moments we shared in the stands.

**Looking Ahead**

Though this chapter at Texas is coming to an end, it’s not the end of my journey in football. I am excited for the next steps and the new opportunities that lie ahead. I’m focused on continuing my growth as a player and as a person. Wherever my path leads, I know that the experiences and relationships I’ve built here at Texas will continue to guide me.

I want to thank my family for always being by my side through thick and thin. Without their love, support, and guidance, I would not be the person or the player I am today. They have been my rock, and I know they will continue to support me no matter what comes next.

This is not goodbye, because once you’re a Longhorn, you’re always a Longhorn. My journey at Texas has been unforgettable, and I will carry the pride of wearing the burnt orange and white for the rest of my life. Thank you to the entire Texas football community for allowing me to be part of something so special.

I will always bleed burnt orange.

Sincerely,
Arch Manning
