Eagles Rumored to Be Eyeing Two Top Edge Rushers
August 26, 2025 – Philadelphia Eagles News Roundup
Reports suggest the Philadelphia Eagles could be exploring another major move following their recent quarterback acquisition. According to Sports Illustrated, the team is monitoring Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Travon Walker and Miami Dolphins’ Jaelan Phillips as potential trade targets.
Walker, the No. 1 overall pick in 2022, has posted consecutive double-digit sack seasons (10 in 2023, 10.5 in 2024) and is signed through 2026 after the Jaguars exercised his fifth-year option. A trade for Walker would likely require a first-round pick, along with cornerback Kelee Ringo and one of Philadelphia’s three projected third-round selections next spring. The Jaguars, who do not have a 2026 first-round pick after trading for Heisman winner Travis Hunter, may consider such an offer.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are finalizing their 53-man roster ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. Rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell continues to impress, showing significant growth in coverage, run defense, and blitz timing, and is expected to start Week 1.
General Manager Howie Roseman is expected to remain aggressive on the trade market as roster cuts around the league create opportunities to add depth.
