August 20, 2025 — The Miami Heat have reached an agreement with free agent guard Jahmir Young, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Young is expected to join the team on an Exhibit 10 contract, giving him a chance to compete for one of Miami’s open two-way contract spots during training camp.
Young, a 6’1″ point guard, went undrafted out of Maryland in 2024. He began his professional career with the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets’ G League affiliate, before signing a two-way deal with the Chicago Bulls in February. He was later waived in July to make room for Yuki Kawamura.
While Young only appeared in six NBA games (30 total minutes), he impressed in the G League, averaging 21.7 points, 7.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals across 43 games with Grand Rapids and the Windy City Bulls. After struggling early from three, he closed strong by hitting 39.7% of his threes in his final 13 G League games. He earned All-Rookie Team honors and placed third in Rookie of the Year voting.
Young also drew interest from the Perth Wildcats in Australia’s NBL, but has opted to continue his NBA journey. The Heat currently have Vladislav Goldin and Myron Gardner on two-way contracts, with one slot remaining open heading into camp.
