ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers star outfielder Wyatt Langford has reportedly made a decision regarding his future with the team following a season marred by injuries but filled with promise.
According to sources close to the organization, Langford has committed to staying with the Rangers long-term, reaffirming his belief in the club’s direction and his desire to help lead them back to World Series contention. The 24-year-old confirmed he has no plans to seek a move or explore free agency options when his current deal runs its course.
“I’m a Ranger,” Langford said during a media appearance this week. “This team drafted me, believed in me, and I want to win championships here in Texas. I’m not going anywhere.”
Langford’s 2025 season was interrupted by multiple oblique injuries that forced him to the injured list three times, the most recent shutting him down in late September. Despite the setbacks, he still posted strong numbers — hitting .241 with 22 home runs, 62 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases in 134 games. His power-speed combination has made him one of the most dynamic young players in Major League Baseball.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy praised Langford’s commitment, saying his leadership and determination “set the tone for the clubhouse,” even while sidelined.
“He’s got the kind of mindset you build around,” Bochy said. “He’s already talking about coming back stronger next year. That tells you everything.”
Langford is expected to make a full recovery this offseason and be ready for Spring Training in February 2026. With his future now settled and his focus fully on returning to top form, the Rangers are optimistic that their young core — including Langford, Evan Carter, and Josh Jung — will anchor the lineup for years to come.
“I’m excited about what’s ahead,” Langford added. “Texas is home, and I want to bring another title back here.”
