Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm delivered welcome news for Cardinals fans ahead of this weekend’s showdown: star running backs Isaac Brown and Duke Watson have been cleared to return from injury.
The duo had been sidelined with lingering issues — Brown with an ankle concern and Watson nursing a minor setback — leaving their availability in doubt for the past two weeks. Their absence forced Louisville to rely on sophomore back Keyjuan Brown, who impressed in relief.
On Thursday, Brohm confirmed both Brown and Watson are ready to go. “It’s great to have them back,” he said. “They’ve worked hard in rehab, and their presence gives us a huge boost. These are guys who set the tone for our offense.”
The Cardinals’ rushing attack has been the backbone of their success this season. With Brown’s explosiveness and Watson’s power running style back in the mix, Louisville regains one of the most dynamic backfields in the ACC.
