St. Louis, MO — August 30, 2025 — St. Louis Blues head coach Jim Montgomery is setting new strategies for the upcoming season, with a strong emphasis on maximizing the talent of forward Jordan Kyrou and developing rising prospect Jimmy Snuggerud.
Kyrou, now one of the team’s top offensive weapons, has been tasked with taking on greater responsibility as both a scorer and leader. Montgomery believes that pairing him in key offensive situations alongside younger players like Snuggerud could accelerate the team’s growth while keeping their attack dynamic.
“Jordan is at the point where he can be a difference-maker every night,” Montgomery explained. “With Jimmy, we see a young player who has the tools to succeed. Getting them working together in certain situations gives us balance and builds for the future.”
Snuggerud, a 2022 first-round draft pick, has been gaining attention for his strong two-way game and scoring ability. Montgomery’s plan reportedly involves giving the 20-year-old increased opportunities during training camp and the preseason, testing how he can adapt to NHL pace while learning alongside a proven talent like Kyrou.
The Blues are aiming to strike the right balance between experience and youth, a formula that Montgomery hopes will strengthen the team’s push in the highly competitive Central Division. Fans will be watching closely to see if the Kyrou–Snuggerud connection becomes a new spark for St. Louis this season.
