Aaron Judge Reaches 50-HR Mark for Fourth Time, Adds No. 51
September 25, 2025 – New York
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge etched his name deeper into baseball history on Wednesday, becoming just the fourth player in MLB history to record four seasons with at least 50 home runs.
Judge hit his 50th of the year in the second inning against the Chicago White Sox at Yankee Stadium, a three-run blast to center off reliever Jonathan Cannon. Later in the eighth inning, he added No. 51 with a solo homer off Cam Booser. The Yankees went on to secure an 8-1 victory.
The 33-year-old outfielder now shares company with Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa, who also had four separate 50-homer seasons. Judge previously reached the milestone in 2017, 2022, and 2024, with his record-breaking 62 home runs in 2022 setting the all-time American League single-season mark.
With Wednesday’s homers, Judge now has 365 career home runs, placing him fourth in Yankees history behind Ruth (659), Mickey Mantle (536), and Lou Gehrig (493).
Judge’s 2025 campaign continues to showcase his dominance at the plate. Along with his power, he currently leads Major League Baseball in batting average (.328), on-base percentage (.455), and slugging percentage (.681). The two-time AL MVP was also selected to his seventh All-Star Game this season.
