St. Louis blues news
The St. Louis Blues are keeping a familiar face in their lineup, announcing that forward Nathan Walker has signed a two-year contract extension worth approximately $1.775 million.
Walker, known for his relentless energy and work ethic, has carved out a role as a dependable depth forward. While he is expected to continue in a fourth-line role, team officials noted that his versatility and professionalism make him a valuable presence in the locker room. At times, Walker could rotate in and out of the lineup as a healthy scratch, depending on matchups and roster needs.
Originally from Australia, Walker has become a fan favorite in St. Louis for his gritty play and commitment to the team. Despite limited ice time, he has shown the ability to spark momentum shifts with his forechecking and physical presence.
The Blues, who are in the midst of shaping their roster ahead of the 2025–26 season, view Walker’s re-signing as part of their strategy to maintain a solid foundation of reliable veterans around their younger core.
Head coach Drew Bannister praised Walker’s character, saying: “Nathan is the kind of player every team wants. He brings energy, he plays the game the right way, and he sets a great example for the younger guys. We’re glad to have him staying with us.”
For Walker, the new deal offers stability and the chance to continue contributing to a city he has grown to call home. “I’m grateful for the trust the organization has shown me,” Walker said. “St. Louis has been great to me and my family, and I’ll keep doing everything I can to help this team win.”
The extension ensures that Walker will remain in St. Louis through at least the 2026–27 season, giving the Blues a reliable depth option as they look to return to playoff contention.
