Louisville Cardinals news
Louisville Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm has provided an update on star freshman running back Isaac Brown after the standout playmaker was limited in the team’s recent win over Bowling Green.
Brown, who carried the ball just once for an 18-yard gain before leaving the game, has been dealing with an undisclosed injury that slowed his participation. Brohm acknowledged the concern among fans but expressed cautious optimism about Brown’s recovery timeline.
“I’m not for sure when we’ll have everybody back. I would like to have them back tomorrow. Hopefully we can get them back for the Pitt game,” Brohm said. “We’ll see how the week goes. I am very hopeful it happens.”
The freshman running back has quickly become a fan favorite after a record-breaking debut season in 2024, rushing for over 1,100 yards and earning ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. His absence, even for a short stretch, is felt across the Louisville offense.
Brohm emphasized that the Cardinals are prioritizing player health and will not rush Brown back before he is fully ready. “We want him healthy for the long haul,” Brohm added, noting that other offensive standouts are also working through injuries.
Louisville faces Pittsburgh in its upcoming matchup, and Brown’s status remains a key storyline heading into the week. Fans remain hopeful that the explosive running back will be cleared to return, giving the Cardinals a much-needed boost on offense.
