Texas rangers news
— Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy has openly addressed the recent struggles of star outfielder Adolis García, acknowledging that his performance in recent weeks has fallen short of expectations.
García, known for his power and clutch hitting, has been mired in a slump marked by low batting averages, high strikeout totals, and limited offensive impact. While his struggles have drawn criticism from sections of the fan base, Bochy emphasized that the team is standing firmly behind him.
“There’s no question Adolis hasn’t been at his best,” Bochy told reporters after Sunday’s loss. “He’s had a tough stretch, but every player goes through it. He’s too talented, too hardworking for this to last. What he needs is time, and what we all need is patience.”
Bochy pointed out that García has been dealing with minor adjustments in his swing mechanics, something the coaching staff believes will pay off once he regains his rhythm.
“It’s about timing, about confidence,” Bochy explained. “We’ve seen what he can do in big moments. He’s carried this team before, and he’ll do it again. We just have to let him work through it.”
Fans have grown increasingly restless as García’s slump has coincided with the Rangers’ push for playoff positioning. Social media reactions in recent weeks have highlighted frustration over his strikeouts and lack of consistency.
Bochy, however, urged supporters to remember García’s value beyond the box score.
“Adolis brings more than numbers,” Bochy said. “His energy, his defense, his presence in the clubhouse — those are things you can’t measure. We’re better with him, and we believe in him.”
For the Rangers, García’s rebound could be pivotal as the postseason approaches. Bochy remains confident that patience will be rewarded.
“The season is long,” Bochy added. “Great players find their way. Adolis will.”
