Cincinnati Reds manager Terry Francona has opened up about the realities of his long and decorated career, shedding light on the toughest challenges he has faced and the most devastating moments along the way.
Speaking candidly, Francona admitted that while coaching comes with tremendous rewards, it also demands resilience during difficult stretches. “Every season tests you in different ways,” Francona said. “The hardest part is not the wins and losses—it’s when players go down with injuries or when you see guys struggle after putting in so much work. Those are the moments that really stay with you.”

You’ve got to be that calm presence in the storm.”
