Arlington, Texas (Nov. 3, 2025) — Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford has made it clear: he isn’t going anywhere.
After a season filled with highlights, hard work, and a few frustrating injuries, the 24-year-old star spoke candidly this week about his deep connection to the organization and its fans — and his determination to help bring championship baseball back to Arlington.
“This team means everything to me,” Langford said during an offseason appearance at Globe Life Field. “The fans here welcomed me from day one, and I want them to know — I’m all in on the Rangers. I want to be here, win here, and grow here.”
Langford, who became the youngest player in Rangers history to record a 20-home-run, 20-stolen-base season, quickly turned into a fan favorite with his energy, humility, and big-game performances. From clutch hits in late innings to highlight-reel catches in left field, he’s already showing the star potential the club envisioned when they drafted him fourth overall in 2023.
Despite missing time this season with a series of oblique strains, Langford’s passion for the game never waned. He often remained active in the clubhouse and was a constant presence in the dugout, supporting teammates even when sidelined.
“It was tough being on the IL,” Langford admitted. “You want to be out there battling with the guys every day. But the support I got from our fans — man, that meant everything. You feel that love in Texas. It makes you want to give everything you’ve got for this city.”
Team officials have echoed that sentiment, calling Langford one of the core players they plan to build around for years to come. His combination of speed, power, and work ethic — along with his connection to the community — makes him one of the most important young figures in the franchise.
Manager Skip Schumaker, who officially took over this fall, praised Langford’s leadership qualities despite his age.
“He plays hard, he plays the right way, and he cares about the logo on the front more than the name on the back,” Schumaker said. “That’s the kind of player you want leading your team into the future.”
Langford says his offseason focus will be on staying healthy and preparing to come back stronger than ever in 2026. But he also wanted to make one thing clear to fans who have supported him through every high and low:
“I love this team. I love these fans,” he said with a smile. “We’ve got something special building here. I promise — the best is yet to come.”
