Braves Sign Outfielder Brewer Hicklen from Phillies
The Atlanta Braves have added depth to their organization by signing free-agent outfielder Brewer Hicklen, who finished the 2025 season in the Philadelphia Phillies’ system. The signing was first reported by Aram Leighton.
Hicklen, 29, did not appear in the majors for Philadelphia. He began the 2025 season with the Detroit Tigers after being traded by the Milwaukee Brewers shortly before Opening Day.
Hicklen will turn 30 ahead of next season and brings limited MLB experience. He has played 10 major league games, posting a 2-for-12 line with two stolen bases.
Most of his career has been spent in Triple-A, where he has appeared in 410 games, hitting .240 with a .464 slugging percentage and 125 stolen bases.
While he is not expected to play a significant role for Atlanta, he provides useful depth. Hicklen has been valued enough for multiple teams to acquire him, even if none have kept him long-term. The Braves will hope this opportunity gives him a chance to stick at the big-league level.
