Callum McGregor, the captain of Celtic, has led by example in the engine room for both the club and the nation throughout the years.
According to Transfermarkt, the 30-year-old has made an incredible 455 appearances in green and white to date, tallying 64 goals and 76 assists.
With 53 caps throughout his time playing for Scotland, McGregor is one of the three players in a strong midfield tandem that also includes John McGinn and Scott McTominay.
Unfortunately, a calf/Achilles problem has kept the Lennoxtown product out of the Bhoys’ previous two competitive games against Livingston and Heart of Midlothian.
Last week, Brendan Rodgers provided a positive update on his injury situation, saying, “Hopefully, we can find a solution and he will be available following the international break.”
Additionally, he will not be playing in the forthcoming break in the Scottish Premiership. He will miss the Tartan Army’s friendly matches against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland after being left out of Steve Clarke’s team.
