GREATEST DEAL EVER :Cowboys make just their second free agency signing by adding veteran running back ahead of NFL Draft……
The Los Angeles Rams will apparently not be bringing back running back Royce Freeman, as he is signing with the Dallas Cowboys. Freeman is becoming a real journeyman at the NFL level. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2018, went to the Carolina Panthers a few seasons later, then the Houston Texans, the Rams this past season and now reportedly the Cowboys, a team in dire need of running back help.
Last season, Freeman had a few big plays for Los Angeles and filled in occasionally for starter Kyren Williams, who was hurt or wanted a break. Freeman has always had skill; Denver selected him in the third round in the past. Whether it’s due to a lack of performance or opportunity, he doesn’t seem to be able to hold onto lead back responsibilities. Maybe that will change in Dallas, where Rico Dowdle and Freeman seem to have an open running back room at the moment. Through the draft, the team can still add players.
Los Angeles will probably need to decide who to add at RB in order to make up for Freeman’s departure. Alternatively, Zach Evans, the Rams’ second-year back, might be prepared to advance, or there might be another option on the team. Additionally, it’s probable that Sean McVay and Les Snead have a running back selected in the draft.
Regardless of what occurs, it seems like LA will have to go without Freeman. It’s unclear if the Rams anticipated having Freeman in their plans for the upcoming campaign. He most definitely isn’t now.
